Starr Space: your Friday night venue
Hey, remember when Joe Bastianich was running around Roberta’s back yard strumming his guitar with the rollicking banjo duo, “Free Advice”? If you missed the first fundraising party for the forthcoming Brooklyn Grange (a rooftop farm headed up by the good folks at Roberta’s Pizza) get thee to the dance floor this Friday for the roof raising farm party, round two.
$10 gets you into Bushwick’s Starr Space, where Gabe McMackin will serve up soup, and $3 beers will be running over. Team Robespierre, Wild Yaks, and Anamanaguchi will take the stage, followed by DJ’s and a wild dance floor.
Friday, November 13, 8pm-late
108-110 Starr St, Bushwick
“All proceeds from the party will go towards the new farm, Brooklyn Grange, which sets an example to the nation at many levels: reducing carbon emissions on food transportation, increasing availability of healthy produce to communities with limited access to nutritious organics produce, and creating green roofs to reduce energy costs and cover under-utilized urban rooftops with productive vegetation.”
Come get your dance on, and be a part of something great.
This past season, Rooftop Farms in Greenpoint set an example for the potential to farm on roofs all over the city.
